Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

In my opinion, the coming year may well be a landmark one in the realm of video games, with changes large and small speaking to the wider acceptance of different interactive entertainment forms.

If I had to rate all of the major consoles using the Boston Consulting Group ratings I'd have to say that the "Star" is mobile gaming. I mean just about everyone these days has a smart phone and are always on the go. Plus most of the mobile games are free, like Angry Birds and Candy Crush just to name a couple. The "Cash Cow" will have to go to the Sony Playstation, because of it's pricing, game listing and the ability to play older games. The "Question Mark" in my opinion will have to go to the Microsoft Xbox. There are too many unknowns at this point with this system, between the cost being $100 more than the Playstation, not being able to play older games and having to log in every 24 hours to keep an account active. The "Dog" will have to go to the Nintendo Wii for lack of high end games and online usage..
